What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Subscription Newsletter

If you have signed up to our newsletter, we collect and store your email address for the sole purpose of being allowed to email you any articles that get posted on our website. We do not share this email address with any other third-party and CarPlayLife.com will not contact you for any other reason unless we strictly believe it is of interest to you.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We use a contact form to enable you to send any email enquiries to our own personal email inbox. Emails are not stored on the website, instead they are directly forwarded to our own personal inbox where it is stored indefinitely and it maybe used for the act of replying back to you, or else deleted entirely. We do not share it with any third-party or use it for third-party marketing purposes.
